HEG (Hemoencephalography) is a type of neurofeedback often used for complaints associated with attention and focus (ADHD, Autism spectrum and migraineurs). The nirHEG headband increases cerebral blood flow to the frontal region (forehead) for improved executive function and greater attention and focus. The specialized headband has been used successfully in the reduction of "stimming" behaviors nd other symptoms associated with autism. HEG is sometimes an alternative to traditional eeg training. The HEG headband enables children who are intolerant of sensor placement on the scalp to have more freedom to move about during a training session.
EEG Neurofeedback Sensors
EEG Neurofeedback: Traditional neurofeedback (eeg equipment and software) is used. Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes, with 45-50 minutes of neurofeedback training time. Other types of biofeedback may be used in conjunction with neurofeedback: below.
HRV softare and portable device
HRV-Heart Rate Variability Training: This biofeedback technology enables the trainee to reduce stress through controlled breathing. Office training (generally 20 minutes) enables client to gain synchrony between the rhythm of the heart and breathing for greater self regulation. A portable device (www.emwave.com) can be purchased for home use to master self regulation. Exercises at home can reduce the number of neurofeedback sessions needed.
